Frequently asked questions

Invoice Emailing with a PDF

Before Emailing an Invoice or a Receipt you must set up both the Email settings and the PDFCreator program.

The email settings are done in the System settings - Environment Tab:-
Mail Server out should be the Provider you send mail through. For example, (This is not always the same as the mail in server!)
Mail Port out: Is usually 25
SMPT User name: This is an extra security requirement that may be required. If you know it enter it.
SMPT Password: As above.

In the User Information Tab enter in the Email address.

If you come across a problem and the email is not starting up make sure that the email components have been registered successfully. Look in the \MASS\Bin folder for em*.dll. Run the following from the Start button of Windows:-

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emdialog.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emimap4.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emmailstore.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emmsg.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emprint.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\emsmtp.dll"
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\MASS\bin\empop3.dll"

If these do not register, then look at the security level set. The UAC may need to be turned off or lowered, or permissions set by the Computer administrator.

When the Invoice emailing is done it sets up folders to store the PDF's before they are sent. You must have permission to write these folders under the MASS folder.

PDFCreator is a freeware product that is provided with the MASS installer as an option. If you did not install this then you can download another version and install it on the PC running the Invoicing.

MASS writes to the registry when running the Invoice PDF's.

PC's on a network that want to run the Invoice emailing must have individually installed the above.
